Carieer week

This week (13-17th of October) was the career week in Rezekne. The kids from schools participated in a lot of activities in order to descover different jobs. They talked with peoples from the community and fund out why they choosed their job. We were also invinted at Zeilmus on Tuesday to talk about our volunteer work. So we turned into living books, picked a name and we told to the students about our EVS experience. They were very interested in EVS program and asked a lot of questions about our work.

But this wasn't the only activity of us for this week. We started the week by becoming "citizens" of Latvia :) (redidence permit)  and after that, to celebrate, we had pasta with meet sos. Yammy

The French lessons, German lessons and English lessons have been also implemented in this week and the youth were very excited to learn new words and to do homeworks with Moritz and Clemence (you guys are starting to improve your teaching skills! Good job!).

On  Wednesday Paul and Clemence had their first activity from Music Club. Good luck!

Cartoon Activity :)

Clemence has a beautiful ideea to develop a club where the kids could learn about how to create cartoons using differents techniques. First activity was on Friday (3rd of October) and we've learned that there are two important ways that we could use in order to create a cartoon:

• one is"stop motion" technique - for this you can use a lot of drawings, you will took a picture of all of them and after that you will use the pictures in order to create a cartoon. Like this :) You can also use objects for this technique.
• the other one is "pixiliation" technique - for this you use the human body, and of course a lot of pictures in order to create a cartoon. Like this :)

As you can see for bouth of them it's a very hard work.
At the beginning the youth started with a small exercise in order to understand the movement. We didn't use the camera for this part. We drew 4 drawing  on the same topics and after that we glue them together on a stic. When we twisted the stick the drawing started to move... even it was for only one second :)

We need a lot of concentration and imaginations!

Cooking Activities :)

After Untumi visit Moritz had a great idea to start the cooking activities in JACis. So, we've started with one of the most important food: bread. 

 

Moritz prepared at his home two delicios dought - one simple and one with cheese and bacon. In JACis all people helped him to make small bread! It was fun :)

30 minutes after, we could finally get the bread out of oven. Every body was happy and proud of their job. Bonne appétit !!!

First activity of October in full formation :)

Jacis has a lot of partners in the community of Rezekne. Between this is also the "Angels with us" Associations that, last Thursday, organized a trip for the kids with autism to Untumi, right outside of our city.

 

Together with other 4 volunteers from the Jacis, we participated too in this trip in order to help the organizers with the running of the activities. It was a beautiful day, warmly and sunny. The idea of the day was to present a methods of therapy for the autistic kids, more exactly the therapy with dogs. So we took part of an interesting representations of a fourth dogs that were very happy to show us their talents. They were so cute :). 

Also, during the next three hours the dogs did a very good job: they stood among kids, playing with them, making laughing, and taking care of them (and vice versa as you can see).

 

We, as a volunteers, we played with the kids, took care of the dogs or even taught them to cook bread on a stick (Good job Moritz! It was so delicious!)  It was so pleased to see this children happy, and their smiles filled our day of joy and gratitude.
